Android Permissions Guide for Brite
Brite needs certain permissions on Android to work properly. If you're experiencing issues with notifications, data not saving, or widgets resetting — check these permissions.
Storage Permission (Critical)
Without Storage permission, Brite can't save data locally. This causes:
- Widget layouts resetting after closing the app
- Settings (currency, timezone) not saving
- Appearance changes reverting
How to fix: device Settings > Apps > Brite > Permissions > Storage > Allow
Required for reminders and habit notifications.
How to fix: device Settings > Apps > Brite > Notifications > Allow
Battery Optimization (Important)
Android may kill Brite in the background, which stops notifications and sync.
How to fix: device Settings > Battery > Brite > Don't optimize (or Unrestricted)
Samsung-Specific Settings
Samsung devices have extra aggressive battery management. Additional steps:
1. Settings > Battery > Background usage limits > remove Brite from Sleeping/Deep sleeping apps
2. Settings > Device Care > Battery > App power management > turn off for Brite
3. Settings > Apps > Brite > Battery > Allow background activity
4. Settings > Apps > Brite > Mobile data > Allow background data usage
5. Lock the app in Recent Apps (swipe down on app card to lock)
