How to Track Expenses and Income in Brite

Brite's Finance widget helps you track your spending and income in one place. Set budgets, categorize expenses, and see where your money goes with visual charts.

1. Adding the Finance Widget

Tap Edit on your main screen > find Finance in the widget gallery > tap Add Widget.

2. Adding an Expense

1. Open the Finance widget and tap +
2. Enter the amount
3. Choose a category (food, transport, entertainment, etc.) or create a custom one
4. Add a note if needed (e.g., "lunch with colleagues")
5. Set the date (defaults to today)
6. Tap Save

3. Adding Income

Same process as expenses — just switch to the Income tab before adding. Categories include salary, freelance, investments, and custom ones.

4. Recurring Transactions

For regular expenses (rent, subscriptions) or income (salary):
1. Create the transaction
2. Tap Repeat and choose the frequency (daily, weekly, monthly)
3. The transaction will be automatically added on schedule

5. Changing Currency

Go to Settings > General > Currency. Choose from 100+ currencies. This affects how amounts are displayed throughout the app.

6. Viewing Reports and Charts

The Finance widget shows visual breakdowns of your spending by category. Swipe between time periods (week, month) to see trends. Use this to identify where you spend the most and set budget goals.

7. Using AI for Finance

You can use the AI Assistant to quickly add transactions: "Spent $15 on lunch" or "Received $3000 salary". The AI automatically categorizes and adds the entry.
