Switching from Todoist to Brite: Migration Guide
Thinking about moving from Todoist to Brite? Here's what's different, what's better, and how to make the switch smooth.
What Brite Has That Todoist Doesn't
- Built-in habits tracker with 80+ pre-built habits and streaks
- Finance tracking — expenses, income, budgets in the same app
- Health trackers — water, sleep, food, exercise, mood, body measurements
- Focus Sounds — 40+ ambient sounds and guided meditation
- Pomodoro timer with ADHD-friendly presets
- Diary / Journal with templates
- AI assistant that creates tasks, events, and habits from natural language
- Visual schedule — hour-by-hour day view
- Drawing / Sketches with Apple Pencil support
- Todoist labels = Brite Tags
- Todoist projects = Brite Projects (with Kanban + List views)
- Todoist filters = Brite widget customization
- Todoist karma = Brite habit streaks + goal progress
1. Export from Todoist: Todoist Settings > General > Export as CSV
2. Currently, Brite doesn't support CSV import — you'll need to recreate your active tasks
3. Tip: Use the AI assistant to quickly recreate tasks — just paste your task list and it'll create them
4. Focus on migrating only active tasks — don't bring over your entire archive
Don't try to recreate your entire Todoist setup. Start fresh with Brite's unique features — add habits, finance tracking, and the visual schedule. You'll build a more holistic productivity system than what Todoist offered.
